Peakwork and Invia expand strategic collaboration: Peakwork sets up live connectivity to Expedia Partner Solutions for Invia
Peakwork and Invia have further expanded their strategic cooperation: The Düsseldorf-based IT specialist has now connected the hotel offers from Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS) live for use via ab-in-den-urlaub.de. This makes ab-in-den-urlaub.de by Invia the first online travel portal to use the live connectivity via Peakwork to Expedia Partner Solutions (EPS) in the hotel-only sector.
For Invia, as a launching partner, Peakwork has significantly further developed its hybrid connectivity of travel offers. While the majority of frequently requested travel offers can be delivered via Peakwork's caching technology, the EPS portfolio, consisting of more than 650,000 hotels and accommodations worldwide, will now supplement Invia's hotel offers via a live connection. Included are exclusive offers from leading international hotel chains, beach holidays, city breaks and holiday home rentals.
For live enquiries and bookings, Peakwork technology operates between the Invia API and the EPS API. The advantage for Invia, who already access several providers in the hotel-only sector via API such as the Peakwork caches, is that the effort of further connection is minimised. In this way, Invia can save on IT maintenance costs and use existing IT resources much more efficiently. Data traffic, quality control and more, are now handled with high performance at Peakwork via the Google Cloud.
Sarah Pfuendel, Director Purchasing & Business Operations at Invia, said: "Peakwork has been one of our reliable, fair and loyal partners for our cache data offer for many years. With the new live connection to Expedia EPS, we can continue to benefit from the very large EPS portfolio and to further deepen our successful cooperation with Expedia for more than ten years. And by outsourcing the technical details to Peakwork, this has significantly reduced our IT costs."
Eugenia Dunaeva, Director Business Development EMEA at EPS, added: “We are happy to continue the great partnership with Invia using the new live connectivity capabilities through Peakwork. Flexible hotel and vacation rentals sourcing is more important than ever before to help travelers feel confident when booking.”
Manuel Saballus, Vice President Commercial at Peakwork, concludes: "Invia is the first OTA to use our new high-performance hybrid connection. Our goal is to manifest the edge that our caching technology offers through the new live connection with maximum depth of offering through EPS so all our customers can access a comprehensive product portfolio from a single source."
